Lives up to the hype

Samsung Galaxy S View Cover Folio

Samsung Galaxy S View Cover Folio

I bought this from Best Buy before they became available to order on Amazon. It came to just over $60, but it is worth every penny. I have ordered flip cases from Amazon for my other phones and for friends. Up until now, the most I've paid was $13.00 for a GS3 and $6 for a Galaxy Note. These cases don't compare - they may say "Samsung" on them, but given the build quality of this flip case, I'm fairly certain that they were not actually the official cases. This case feels sturdy and very quality made.

This case has a nifty feature that lets you see through a little window to let you know what time it is and check out notifications. This is quite handy when driving at night and instead of your phone illuminating the entire car, you just get to see the important stuff and are less likely to get pulled over or distracted. Also, whenever you flip open the case, the phone automatically wakes up. It is very natural feeling, you may even forget that there is a sleep/wake button. The flip cover is weighted pretty well - it has to be because if it doesn't close the whole way, you don't get the window or auto wake feature. You can also answer or ignore calls through the window.

It does seem to add more weight and thickness than I had hoped, but not so much that the phone becomes unwieldy.

I love this product. It gives additional useable functionality to the phone. All case and covers should be like this, functional. The phone cover is built into the back cover

This case totally lives up to the hype. It fits perfectly of course, and the display works great. There wasn't any interference with answering calls through the display.

The only concern is that the back is left unprotected. I loved that the front display is protected if I accidentally drop the phone, but I am concerned about the back and corners. I love the features so I'm not going to switch it out. As a terrorist fix, I used a cheap eBay back protector on it until my flip mate case from spigen comes in. Until then I'm baby-ing my device.
